After an election: hand over to the new officers
When the committee changes, the new people need their access and the old people's access should end. The handover page does both, and reminds you of everything else that changes hands. Only admins can use it.
- Open People (or Committees) and press Hand over to new officers, then Start a handover. Give it a name, such as "Committee 2026 to 2027".
- The new officers: add each one, from your members or by name and email. Choose their roles, or tick Make this person an admin for the new chair. Then press Send the invitation.
- The officers who stop: tick the people whose access ends. Nothing happens to them yet.
- What changes hands: tick each line when it is done: the bank, the keys, the passwords, the papers.
- When you are ready, press Finish the handover. The access of the officers who stop ends at that moment.
There is always an admin. If you are the only admin and you stop too, make a new officer an admin first and wait until they have accepted. The page tells you when it is not yet possible.
Nobody gets access without agreeing: a new person accepts the invitation from their own home page. Someone who already helps manage gets their new roles at once.
If you choose the new committee when you start, its people who have an email address are listed for you.
The committees move too: when you start (or under Change), say which committee stops. With the last step it moves to the former committees, and the new one starts that day.
What they still hold: under a ticked person you see their tasks still to do and the things they keep. Pass these on gives them to another member in one go.
The new officers help: each new officer sees the handover on the organisation's overview and can tick the checklist, even before they are an admin.
Reminders: the admins and the new officers are reminded three days before the planned day, and once more if the day passes and the handover is still open.
A finished handover stays on the page under Earlier handovers, as a record.
