Add your members from a list
You already have your members in a spreadsheet. Typing them in one by one would take an evening. Azonation reads the file and adds them all at once.
- Open Members and tap Add from a list.
- Your file needs one member per line and headings in the first line. Only the first name is needed. Tap Download an example to see the headings: First name, Last name, Email, Phone, Address, Membership number, Membership type, Branch, Joined on, Fee paid until, Amount paid, Left on, Birthday, Notes. The headings may be written in any of Azonation's ten languages.
- Tap Choose a file (Excel or CSV). You see every line as Azonation understood it. Nothing is added yet.
- Lines with something wrong are marked in red, with the reason. Correct the file and choose it again, or tap Leave these lines out and go on.
- Tap Bring in the list.
Nobody is emailed. The members are added to your list, as if you had typed them. Each can connect their own account later.
Who has paid? Add a column Fee paid until with the day each member's fee runs to (31/12/2026). After the import the Renewals page shows at once who is paid up, due soon or overdue. No money is written into your books and no receipt is made: that money is in your earlier accounts. If you had not set up renewals yet, a yearly renewal is set up for you; change it under Renewal settings. Only someone who may record fees can bring them in.
"Already in your members list"? A line with the email or the membership number of someone who is a member already is not added twice. Tick Change the members who are in your list already and such a line brings that member up to date instead: only the cells you filled in change something, an empty cell leaves things as they are. A member with an Azonation account keeps their own name and contact details.
What was paid. Beside Fee paid until you can add a column Amount paid. It is kept with the member's standing; it still does not go into your books.
Branches. If you use branches, a column Branch with the branch's name puts each member in their home branch.
People who have left. A column Left on with the day they left brings them in as former members. They take no room in your plan. To end the membership of someone who is in your list, open that member: a list cannot do it.
Families. A member's family is theirs to tell: each member adds it in their own account and chooses what your organisation sees. So a list cannot bring families in. For a family that joins together, use a membership type such as Family.
Membership types are matched by their name. Add your types first (Members, then Membership types), or leave that column empty.
A birthday is kept as day and month only (15/06). If your file has the whole date, the year is dropped.
A long list? Up to 500 members at once. If your plan has no room for all of them, the page says how many fit.
