Your website in more than one language

Your website can be in up to ten languages. Visitors choose one at the top of the page, and each language has its own addresses.

  1. Open Website and email, press Pages and menu, then Site settings.
  2. Under Languages tick each language your website is in: English, Bangla, Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German or Italian.
  3. Choose the main language. It is used where a text has no version in the language a visitor chooses.
  4. Press Save site settings.
  5. Open a page, or a post. Above its text, the Languages tabs show each language. Tap a language and write its version. A tab says written once it has words. Then save.
  6. To start a translation, press Draft a translation, check the draft, and save.
Until a language is written visitors see the words of the main language, with a grey hint that says so. Nothing is left blank.
Azonation's own words, such as the menu words, the buttons, the dates, Donate and the privacy page, come in every language you choose.
Draft a translation uses the AI helper to write a first draft. Always check it before you save. When the AI helper is off, the button says why it cannot help, and you can write the words yourself.
Each language has its own addresses. The main language is at /about; French is at /fr/about. The language switch at the top takes visitors to the same page in another language, and search engines are told about every version.
Arabic and Urdu are written from right to left. Your website turns itself that way.
