Start your own Azon Rooms meeting
Anyone with an Azonation account who is 16 or over can host a video meeting of their own, free, with nothing to install. It does not need an organisation: the meeting is yours, and you can start it now or schedule it for later.
Start one now
- Sign in and open Azon Rooms in your own menu (not an organisation's). The first time, confirm that you are 16 or over.
- Tap Start a meeting now. Give it a name if you like; if you leave the name empty, your first name is shown.
- Tap Start the meeting, and allow the camera and microphone when your browser asks.
- Tap Copy the link and send it to the people you want to see. Anyone with the link can ask to join.
Schedule one for later
- Tap Schedule a meeting. Choose the Date, the Start time, how long it lasts under How long, and your Time zone.
- Under Repeats, choose every week, every month, or does not repeat.
- Tap Schedule meeting. It is kept under Coming up on the same page.
- To put it in your diary, open the meeting and tap Add to calendar. Choose a calendar file (.ics), Google Calendar or Outlook. The invitation has the time and the link.
Your personal link
- Tap Choose your link and type a name of 3 to 30 letters, numbers or dashes, for example jane-smith.
- Tap Save link. Your meetings then open at that address on azonrooms.com, for example azonrooms.com/jane-smith. You can change the name with Change your link.
Who can have one: a new personal link is part of Azon Rooms Plus. If you already have a link, you keep it on the free plan. Tap Give up this link to stop it; a meeting running on it then ends.
Passcode and waiting room
- Open the meeting, tap Edit, and under Passcode (optional) type 4 to 32 characters. People type it before they join, and give it to the people you invite.
- Switch on the Waiting room to let each person in yourself. People who arrive wait until you tap Let in, or Say no.
- In the room you can also tap Lock the room so nobody else comes in, and Mute everyone when people talk over each other.
- To leave people out, tap Take out beside a name. To finish for everyone, tap End for everyone.
Free limits: a meeting lasts up to 60 minutes, with up to 20 people in it, the host included. At 55 minutes everyone in the room sees a warning. You can start up to 10 meetings a day. A meeting that nobody has been in for 10 minutes ends by itself. A scheduled meeting can run for up to 8 hours. Azon Rooms Plus gives more (see Azon Rooms Plus, below).
Deleting a meeting stops its link for everyone and cannot be undone. Your meetings stay in My meetings until you delete them.
