Newsletters

A newsletter keeps members close between meetings. Azonation gives you a ready design with your logo and colour, and puts your events and news in for you. (Newsletters is a module: see Modules.)

  1. Open Newsletters in your organisation's menu and press New newsletter.
  2. Choose one of the 40 ready newsletters (monthly news, an invitation, the notice of the annual general meeting, a call for volunteers, greetings and more), or start with an empty one. Change the words and fill in the parts in [square brackets].
  3. Write the subject and pick a design (Classic, Simple, Bold, Letter, Banner, Elegant) and a colour.
  4. Build it from parts with Add a part: a heading, text, a picture (from an album that is for everyone), a button, a line. Move them up and down with the arrows.
  5. Add the parts Azonation fills in by itself: Coming events, Latest notices, New members (the people who joined in the last 30 days, by first name).
  6. Choose who it is for: all members, or some membership types, committees or branches.
  7. Press See how it looks, then Send a test to me to get it in your own inbox.
  8. Press Send, or choose Send later with a day and time.
It counts as email to members: the page shows how many emails are left this month. A newsletter that needs more is not sent.
Stopping the emails: every newsletter has a link to stop them, as the law asks. Members with an account use their notification settings.
What was sent stays as it was. Use Use it again to start next month's from it.
People who are not members can get it too. Under People who signed up tick People can sign up and share the address of the sign-up page (it is also on your website). Each person confirms by email first and can stop with one press.
Public archive: tick Show it in our public archive and anyone can read that newsletter on the internet. Leave it off for news that is for members only.
Opened and clicked: after sending you see how many readers opened it and pressed a button. It is counted without names, and you can switch it off.
