Member pages on your website
Show the people who give to your organisation on your website, each with a short page. Every member agrees before their page is shown.
- Open Website and email in your organisation's menu, and press Open member pages.
- Press New page, choose the member, and write Involvement and contribution: what they do for the organisation. Their name and photo come from their own profile, so they follow it.
- Under Who may see it choose Everyone (on your website and in Azonation links), Signed-in members only, or Nobody (hidden for now).
- Under Groups tick the groups the page belongs to; a member can be in several. Under Also show switch on each extra for this page: volunteering hours, certificates and awards, or events they helped with.
- Press Save page. A member with an Azonation account is asked to agree at once (see Pages about me in the member's guide). Until they answer, the page is not shown.
- Press Look to choose how the Members page looks: cards with photos or a list, two, three or four columns, the order (name, group order or member since), and an intro text. Press Save look.
Free or Website Plus? On a free website the Members page lists names, photos and roles, and the only group is Committee. Website Plus (an add-on, see Modules) gives each member their own page, all the groups, the look, the extras, In memory, messages and suggestions. When Plus ends nothing is deleted: the pages go back to the simple Members page.
Where it shows: the Members page is at /members on your website, and each member's page at /members/jane-smith (you choose the address of each page). The same pages are on your Azonation address and, with Website Plus, on your own web address. Members who are signed in see the pages marked Signed-in members only inside Azonation. No email address or phone number is ever shown.
Under 18 is never public. A member under 18 is shown to signed-in members at most, whatever you choose. Azonation works out the age from the year of birth, or from a junior membership type when the year is not known.
Not asked yet. A member without an Azonation account cannot be asked yet, so their page says Not asked yet, with a button Invite to Azonation. Once they join, they are asked automatically, by an Azonation notice and an email, and the page then shows Asked on with the date. Nothing is asked twice by accident: Ask again is shown only once a member can be asked.
In memory (Website Plus) is for someone who has died, such as a founder. Nobody is asked to agree, and the page goes in the In memory group. You must write Who agreed (family): who in the family agreed to the page. That note is kept in the activity record for your own records and is never shown on the website.
Changing a page. When you change the text after the member agreed, they are asked again. Until they answer, the page stays as they last agreed, so visitors never read words the member has not agreed to. Press Ask again to send the question again.
Suggestions from members (Website Plus): a member can suggest a change to their own page. It waits under Suggestions. Press Accept to use the new words (the member is then asked again), or Decline.
Send a message (Website Plus): a visitor can write to a member through their page. The words go to the member's email, and the member's address is never shown. Each page takes 20 messages a day. Members can switch messages off for their own page.
Groups (Website Plus): press Groups to add, rename, move and remove groups. Committee and In memory are made by Azonation and cannot be removed. Removing a group does not remove anyone from their page.
Keep them out of Google: under Look tick Do not show the Members pages on Google. Search engines are then asked not to list them, and they leave the sitemap.
