Member benefits: show what membership is worth

People pay a fee more gladly when they can see what they get for it. Member benefits lists it in one place: what your own organisation gives its members, and what shops and services near you offer them.

For your organisation

  1. Open Benefits in your organisation's menu.
  2. Tap Ready ideas to start from an example (guest passes, 10% off at a local café, hall hire at the member price and more), or Add a benefit to start from nothing.
  3. Say who gives it: your organisation, or a partner such as a shop. For a partner, write its name. The partner needs no account with Azonation.
  4. Choose who it is for: tick the kinds of membership, or tick none for every member. Leave Only for members whose fee is paid ticked if a member with an overdue fee should wait.
  5. For something that runs out, tick Count how often each member uses it and write how many times a year (for example 2 guest passes).
  6. Save. Members see it at once, unless you untick Show it to members.
A code for an online shop? Write it under Code for an online offer. Only members who may have the benefit see the code.
Writing down a use. On a benefit tap Write down a use, find the member and tap Used today. For a counted benefit the list shows how many each member has left, and nobody can go over. A mistake? Tap Take back.
Tell your members. On the form tick Tell members about it now. Every member who may have the benefit gets a notice and an email, once. Members who may not have it are not told.
Your best offer first. Use the arrows beside a benefit to move it up or down. Members see the same order.
Let members write down their own use. Tick Members can write down their own use on a benefit and members get the button I used it today. A counted benefit still stops at its number; one that is not counted can be written down once a day. In Who used it you see which uses a member wrote down, and you can take one back. Leave it unticked for anything worth money, such as guest passes, if you would rather keep count yourself.
Show visitors what joining gives. Tick Show on our website on a benefit and it appears on your website under What members get, with the Join us button below. Visitors see the title, the one line and the partner's name. They never see the code or how to get it. Ask a partner first if they are happy to be named in public. To hide the whole section, untick Member benefits you marked for the website under Website.
On your own website or program. With API access, a key that may read Member benefits gets the benefits on offer today. It never gets the codes or who used a benefit.
Which benefits are really used? Open Reports, then Member benefits: the most used first, the counted ones nobody used, and the ones that end soon.
Asking a shop for an offer. Tell them how many members you have and that you will show their offer to every member. Most small shops say yes to 10%. Give the offer a last day and look at the report before you ask again.

For a member

  1. Open My memberships, your organisation, and the tab Benefits. Your own benefits are at the top.
  2. At a shop or café, tap Show my code and let them scan it. They see that you are a member. They do not see your name.
  3. For an online offer, tap Copy beside your code and paste it when you pay.
  4. If you see I used it today under a benefit, tap it after you used it. Your organisation keeps count this way. Tapped by mistake? Ask your organisation to take it back.
A benefit that is not yours yet is shown too, with the reason: it is for another kind of membership, or your fee is overdue.

For a partner (a shop, a café)

  1. Point your phone's camera at the member's code and open the link.
  2. The page says A member of the organisation, or Not a current member. Nothing else is shown, and you need no account.
