Ideas board: hear what your members would change

At a meeting the same few people speak. The Ideas board lets every member say what they would change, lets the others show which ideas they like, and lets you answer once for everyone to read.

For a member

  1. Open My memberships, your organisation, and the tab Ideas.
  2. Tap Share an idea. Say it in a few words, tell a little more, and if you like what good it would do and what it might cost.
  3. Tap the thumb beside an idea of someone else to support it. Tap again to take your support back.
  4. When the organisation answers your idea you get a notice and an email. The answer is under the idea for everyone to read.
Once shared, an idea cannot be changed. While nobody has answered it you can take it back.
In a branch? Tick Only for my branch and only the members of your branch see the idea. Leave it unticked for an idea for the whole organisation. You see the ideas of your branch and of the whole organisation.

For your organisation

  1. Open Ideas board in your organisation's menu. The ideas with the most support are at the top.
  2. Tap Answer, choose what becomes of it (we are thinking about it, planned, done, not now) and write a few words. For Not now, say why.
  3. Whoever shared the idea is told. When an idea is done or will not be done for now, everyone who supported it is told too.
  4. Start a project from it opens a new project with the idea's words filled in. The idea then links to the project.
How the board works (the button at the top): close the board for a while; look at each idea before members see it; or hide whose idea it is.
Two ideas that say the same? Tap Join to another idea and choose the one to keep. The supporters of the first move over (whoever shared it too), it leaves the board, and whoever shared it is told where it went. So the most wanted idea really stands at the top. The words of neither idea are changed. Joined by mistake? Choose Joined to another idea under Show, and tap Undo the join: the idea comes back with the supporters it had.
Take it off the board hides an idea from the members. What the member wrote is never changed, and you can put it back.
Members do not write to each other here. They share and support; only the organisation answers. That keeps the board friendly and easy to look after.
