Check the bank, and close the year

Know that your books and your bank agree, and keep each finished year safe.

  1. Open Professional accounting, then Bank reconciliation, and tap Check a statement on your bank account.
  2. Write the last day of the statement and the balance the bank prints on it. Tap Begin.
  3. Tick every line that is on the statement. When nothing is left between your books and the bank, tap Finish the check.
A line you cannot tick has not reached the bank yet, for example a cheque not paid in. It waits for the next statement.
Close the year. When a year is over and checked, open Close the year and tap Close the year 2026. Its result is kept, and nobody can change its days any more. If you must correct something, tap Open again.
Does your year not begin in January? Choose the month under Start of the financial year, before you close a year or set a budget.
A line that was ticked off against the bank cannot be changed. Undo the last check first if you must.
