Cookie Notice

A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser. Browsers can also keep small pieces of data in “local storage”. This notice says exactly what Azonation stores on your device and why. It belongs with our privacy notice.

This website (azonation.com)

This website sets no cookies.

We count visits without cookies and without storing anything on your device. For each page view, these four things are sent to us: the page address, the host name of the site you came from, the page language, and a rough screen width. No IP address is stored and no visitor profile is built. We cannot recognise you on a later visit.

If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, your visit is not counted at all.

Fonts are served from azonation.com. We do not load fonts from Google.

Live chat on this website

If live chat is switched on, it is run by another company (Tawk.to [to confirm]). The chat stores a small file in your browser so that it can keep your conversation together.

The chat loads only after you say yes. Until then, nothing from that company reaches your browser. Your answer is remembered in your browser’s local storage, so that we do not ask on every page.

To change your answer, clear this site’s data in your browser [to confirm: a link on the page]. You are then asked again.

The app (app.azonation.com)

The app uses only strictly necessary cookies and storage. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

Name or kind Purpose How long
Session cookie Keeps you signed in while you move between pages 2 hours after your last activity [to confirm]
XSRF-TOKEN cookie Protects forms against forgery: it proves that a request comes from your own browser 2 hours after your last activity [to confirm]
Local storage: language Remembers the language you chose Until you change it or clear the site’s data
Local storage: light or dark Remembers the appearance you chose Until you change it or clear the site’s data
Local storage: open organisation Remembers which organisation you have open, if you belong to several Until you sign out or clear the site’s data [to confirm]
Local storage: offline check-in lists Lets an officer check people in at an event when there is no signal Until the list is sent when the connection returns, or you clear the site’s data [to confirm]

Because these are needed for the service you asked for, the law does not require us to ask for your agreement. If you block them, you cannot sign in.

Stripe on payment pages

When you pay by card, the payment page is provided by Stripe. Stripe sets its own cookies there to prevent fraud. They are set only on payment pages. Stripe’s own cookie policy describes them.

Organisations’ websites

Websites that organisations make with Azonation, at addresses ending in azonation.org, set no cookies by default. If an organisation adds something of its own to its website that does set cookies, that organisation is responsible for telling you.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Browsers can send a signal that says you do not want to be tracked. There are two: Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. We respect both. This website does not count your visit when either signal is on. Since we set no tracking cookies and do not sell or share personal data, there is nothing else for the signals to switch off.

How to control cookies in your browser

Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies and local storage. Look in the settings under “Privacy”, “Cookies” or “Site data”. You can:

  • delete the data of one site or of all sites;
  • block cookies from other companies (“third-party cookies”);
  • block all cookies. The app’s sign-in will then not work.

Deleting the app’s data signs you out and resets your language and appearance. Nothing in your account is lost.

The law in plain words

In the UK, the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) say that a website must ask before it stores or reads anything on your device, unless that is strictly necessary for a service you asked for. The EU’s ePrivacy rules say the same. We follow this rule: the app stores only what is strictly necessary, this website stores nothing, and live chat, the one thing that is not strictly necessary, waits for your yes.

Changes and questions

If we change what is stored on your device, we update this notice and the date at the top first. Questions go to support@azonation.com.
