Accessibility statement

Este texto é um rascunho que está a ser revisto por um advogado antes de o Azonation abrir ao público. Ainda pode mudar.

O texto em inglês é o que vale. As traduções servem para ajudar.

Azonation is used by volunteers of every age, on old phones and new laptops, with and without assistive technology. We want all of them to be able to do their work for their organisation. This page says honestly where we stand. “We” means Azon Group Ltd.

It covers the app at app.azonation.com, this website at azonation.com, and the websites that organisations make with Azonation at addresses ending in azonation.org.

What we aim for

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

This is an aim, not a claim that every page meets it today. No independent audit has been done yet [to confirm]. What we say here comes from our own testing while building.

What we do

  • Plain words. We write for people who are not technical. Short sentences, everyday words, no jargon where we can avoid it.
  • Large tap targets. Buttons and links that you tap are at least 48 px high, so they are easy to hit with a finger or an unsteady hand.
  • Keyboard use. You can use Azonation with the keyboard alone, without a mouse.
  • Visible focus. When you move with the keyboard, a clear outline shows where you are.
  • Light and dark. There is a light and a dark appearance. The colour contrast of text has been tested in both.
  • Right-to-left languages. Arabic and Urdu are shown from right to left.
  • Ten languages. English, Bangla, Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German and Italian.
  • Text that resizes. You can make text larger with your browser or phone settings and the pages adapt.
  • Labels on forms. Every field has a label that screen readers announce, and an error is explained in words.
  • No time limits on reading. Nothing disappears before you have finished reading it, and no page moves on by itself.

What is not perfect yet

We know about these gaps:

  • Charts. Each chart has a table with the same figures beside it. The charts themselves may still be hard to use with a screen reader. Please use the table.
  • PDFs made by the app. PDFs such as receipts and reports are not fully tagged, so a screen reader may read them in a poor order or miss the structure. The same information is usually on the page in the app, which works better.
  • Pictures that organisations upload. Organisations add their own pictures to galleries, notices and websites. These pictures may lack a description, and we cannot make sure that every picture has one.
  • Content that organisations write. An organisation’s own pages, documents and messages may not follow these guidelines. That content is the organisation’s responsibility.
  • Services of other companies. Payment pages from Stripe, and video meetings that an organisation links to, are made by other companies. We do not control how accessible they are.
  • No independent audit. As said above, no outside expert has checked Azonation yet [to confirm]. There may be problems we have not found.

We fix accessibility problems as part of our normal work, and we treat a problem that stops someone from finishing a task as a fault, not as a wish.

How to tell us

If something is hard or impossible for you to use, please tell us. You help everyone who comes after you.

  • Email: support@azonation.com
  • Phone: +44 7570 772929
  • Post: Azon Group Ltd, 5 Brayford Square, London, England, E1 0SG

It helps if you tell us:

  • the page or the task where the problem is;
  • what you tried and what happened;
  • the device, the browser and any assistive technology you use, for example a screen reader or voice control.

You do not need to use technical words. A description in your own language is fine.

We answer within 5 working days. In the answer we tell you what we found, whether we can fix it and roughly when. If we cannot fix it soon, we look for another way to give you what you need, for example the same information in a different format.
